Hi, I'm Spencer Honeyman, founder and lead curator of the Climate Wisdom Fellowship.
As a young grad from Pomona College's interdisciplinary Environmental Analysis program, I launched out into the world determined to generate a beautiful, ecologically-integrated society.
I soon realized that people thought about environmental issues in drastically different ways. Some people didn't believe climate change was real at all, some wanted to leave society and start over with ecovillages in the jungles, most just disagreed on what to do or what was important as they lived and worked in their busy lives. It was confusing and it can still be confusing.
What I came to realize through my later studies with experts in human development and team dynamics is that there is such a thing as worldview; people see and experience the world through sets of values that are extremely different and quite durable. There is such a thing as personal healing and spiritual development that open new levels of creative engagement. There is such a thing as conflict resolution and collective healing that allow groups to move in new, emergent ways.
The way that we understand ourselves and the way we understand each other fundamentally changes what is possible together. It changes how we collaborate and what options are open to us; it changes everything.
The human dimension of climate change is essential to understand if we are to enact a more life-giving society over the coming decades and centuries on this planet.
IĀ invite you to join us in our study and practice as we come together to connect in community of impact founders and investors to practice real skills and embody a retelling of the story of who we are.
Sincerely,
Spencer Honeyman
